IAG joins Christchurch earthquake claims service

16 February, 2019

New Zealand’s leading general insurer IAG has announced that it will participate in the Greater Christchurch Claims Resolution Service (GCCRS), an initiative designed to fast-track the resolution of outstanding residential Canterbury earthquake insurance claims.

The GCCRS has been established by the Government to provide homeowners a free-to-access and impartial pathway to settle their claims.

“I am pleased to announce our agreement with the Government that the services offered by the GCCRS are now also able to be utilised by our customers,” IAG New Zealand’s Chief Executive Craig Olsen says.

“IAG has been working proactively with the Government and wider insurance industry to settle the last remaining residential Canterbury earthquake claims as quickly as possible. We welcomed the initial announcement of the GCCRS and are confident it is a service that will be of value,” Mr Olsen says.

“We will continue to work closely with Minister Megan Woods, the Minister for Greater Christchurch Regeneration, on this initiative and any other proposals which may assist with the resolution of outstanding residential Canterbury earthquake claims.

“If an IAG customer wishes to discuss the utilisation of these services, I encourage them to get in touch with us,” Mr Olsen says.

The GCCRS is hosted and operated by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
