Amanda was appointed CEO, IAG New Zealand in July 2021. In this role, Amanda is responsible for New Zealand’s largest general insurer, trading under the AMI, State, NZI, NAC, Lumley and Lantern brands, as well as providing the general insurance products sold by ASB, BNZ, Westpac and The Co-operative Bank in New Zealand.
Originally from Western Australia, Amanda joined IAG in Sydney in 2008 and has held a number of key roles within the organisation. Amanda was Acting Group Executive for Direct Insurance Australia prior to her current role, and before that was Executive General Manager, Consumer Distribution in IAG’s Australia Division with responsibility for the distribution of brands including NRMA Insurance, CGU Insurance, SGIO and SGIC across multiple distribution channels.
In 2023, Amanda was named Insurance Leader of the Year at the New Zealand Insurance Awards hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF). Judges described Amanda as a “visionary CEO with a track record of fostering innovative and diverse workplaces that deliver exceptional culture and customer-centred outcomes.” In particular, her work in the aftermath of the North Island floods and Cyclone Gabrielle was recognised, with judges stating, “she tirelessly contributes to the industry, through several internal and external boards and committees…and spearheaded the recent disaster response, recovery, and next steps alongside central and local government.”
Amanda has more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry in both general and health insurance, having held senior roles in these industries as well as telecommunications, working at iiNet before leaving for IAG.
In her time at IAG, Amanda has been involved in leading award-winning insurance experience teams, generating record employee net promoter scores, and has instigated a significant business transformation programme to build foundations for future growth at IAG New Zealand.
Amanda is currently an Executive Director of IAG New Zealand Limited and IAG (NZ) Holdings Limited, as well as holding directorships with AMI Insurance Limited, First Rescue New Zealand Limited, IAG NZ Repairhub Limited, Loyalty New Zealand Limited and Lumley General Insurance (N.Z.) Limited.
As well as her directorships, Amanda is a member of the Climate Leaders Coalition Steering Committee and Sustainable Business Council Advisory Board, as well as President of the Insurance Council of New Zealand Board. She is a member of Global Women and Champions for Change in New Zealand, and Chief Executive Women in Australia.

Alistair was appointed Chief Financial Officer at IAG New Zealand in September 2014, following the acquisition of the Lumley Insurance business in July 2014.
During his time with Lumley, Alistair held the roles of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer and prior to Lumley was Chief Financial Officer of AMP NZ. He has held senior roles in finance, strategy and operations and projects in financial services companies, including ANZ, Chase Manhattan and NatWest in Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
As Chief Financial Officer, Alistair has overall responsibility for finance, portfolio management, product, pricing, reinsurance and actuarial.

Louise was appointed Executive General Manager People, Communications and Sustainability in October 2020. Louise has extensive human resources experience and has held executive and senior leadership roles with National Australia Bank, Bank of New Zealand, Fonterra and Academic Colleges Group.
As Executive General Manager People, Communications and Sustainability, Louise is responsible for leading the delivery of strategic business partnering across New Zealand to ensure the effective implementation of people and culture initiatives; talent acquisition across New Zealand and Australia; and enabling people synergies to be achieved trans-Tasman.

Garry was appointed Executive General Manager Business (NZI) in May 2018. Prior to this, he was General Manager for Claims at IAG New Zealand.
Garry has 30 years’ experience with IAG New Zealand, holding various management positions in personal and commercial sales, underwriting and claims, in both our intermediated and consumer businesses.
As Executive General Manager Business, Garry is responsible for Broker Intermediated strategy, sales and underwriting distribution, innovation, quality and relationship management for the NZI business.

Paula joined IAG New Zealand in September 2022 to lead our Distribution business before being appointed Executive General Manager Consumer Brands in March 2023.
Paula has more than 20 years’ experience in the financial services and consulting industries, and has worked globally in retail banking, consumer lending and advisory. She is a Member of the Institute of Directors and is an experienced independent director, having served on both listed and NGO Boards.
As Executive General Manager Consumer Brands, Paula is responsible for IAG New Zealand’s marketing, insurance products, customer experience, and customer facing teams for its direct, SME, bank, and partner customers. Paula also leads consumer underwriting, risk, and the overall performance of our consumer brands division.

Wayne was appointed Executive General Manager Claims in May 2022. He joined IAG New Zealand in 2014 and has held various leadership roles; most recently as Executive General Manager Event Claims, followed by Executive Manager Claims Performance.
Before joining IAG New Zealand, Wayne held senior roles across the financial services and banking industry.
As Executive General Manager Claims, Wayne is responsible for our operational teams supporting our direct, intermediated and partner customers, our assessing function and our claims performance area.

Blair was appointed General Counsel and Executive General Manager External Relations in July 2018. He was appointed General Counsel and Company Secretary in 2014 and held the same role at AMI Insurance, immediately prior to its acquisition by IAG New Zealand, between 2011 and 2012.
Blair has extensive Legal, Corporate Affairs, Dispute Resolution and Governance related experience. He has also been responsible for delivering a number of significant corporate transactions for IAG New Zealand.
As General Counsel and Executive General Manager External Relations, Blair is responsible for the Legal, Board Governance (Company Secretariat) and Corporate Affairs (Government Relations and Corporate Communications) functions of IAG New Zealand.

Martin was appointed Executive General Manager Special Projects in July 2024. Prior to this, Martin was seconded to the role of Executive General Manager Claims for 12 months following his role as Chief Risk Officer. He has also held former executive roles with IAG New Zealand covering Strategy, People, Corporate Communications and Legal.
Martin practised law in New Zealand before spending seven years in investment banking in London, returning to New Zealand in 2000. He has extensive experience in legal, banking, wealth management and insurance industries, and has led teams in complex and fast changing markets, requiring transformational change. He is a current director and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors.
As Executive General Manager Special Projects, Martin is responsible for helping drive IAG New Zealand’s transformation program of work.

Dean was appointed as Executive General Manager Supply Chain and Hub Services in December 2021, following eighteen months as Executive General Manager Claims.
Dean joined IAG New Zealand in 1994 and has held various Claims leadership roles as well as leading IAG New Zealand’s Claims response to the Canterbury earthquakes.
As Executive General Manager Supply Chain and Hub Services, Dean is responsible for building our adjacencies strategy, leading our subsidiary businesses, and leveraging the scale and value of our supply chain to provide great customer experiences.

Rachael was appointed Chief Risk Officer in July 2024. Prior to this, Rachael was Executive Manager Risk Governance.
Rachael has more than 20 years’ experience as a risk professional in the financial services industry, in New Zealand and globally in the United Kingdom, Ireland and the USA. She has worked across a range of risk-related disciplines including assurance, advisory and governance, with a focus on regulatory, compliance, operational, strategic and conduct risk.
As Chief Risk Officer, Rachael has overall responsibility for providing second line risk guidance and support to the IAG New Zealand business and an independent perspective on the management of risk to the IAG New Zealand Board.

Simon was appointed Executive General Manager Transformation in March 2023, moving from his previous role as Executive General Manager Customer Experience and Growth.
Simon has a breadth of experience both in New Zealand and overseas and was previously Global Head of Client Experience and Head of Digital for APAC and EMEA at Citibank. Prior to this, he held senior roles with Westpac New Zealand and Air New Zealand.
Simon also has considerable experience leading transformations for large organisations. At IAG New Zealand, Simon is responsible for strategy and enterprise enablement, which includes modernising platforms, leveraging digital and data.
